MINE!

Every time I get a stick to chew on, pull apart or whatever Buddy HAS to try and take it from me!  Why can't I just have something for myself once in a while?  I don't take his stuff, not that I would want it.  Well... I only take his stuff when he's not looking.  But this was MY stick first so NO! You can NOT have my stick Buddy.  Get your own! Grrrrrr

Brrrrrr!

We've had some cold paws on our walks this week!  Reallllllly cold and frosty.  I don't mind it so much as my coat is pretty thick, but Buds... boy that boy will NOT stop whining!  The only time he's been quiet lately is when there is a ball in his mouth.  Or he's been given a snack.

Mom said she's thinking about getting us some booties.  But she's not sure whether we'll wear them.  Hmmmm, I don't know... I guess we'd have to try them on first?!  I don't even really like wearing the coat she got me but Mom says at least it keeps my tummy clean (well, sort of).  Anyway it's still the first week of December so it could get even colder.   Maybe we'll need the booties?

On the hunt!

We are on the hunt for squirrels!  We LOVE to chase squirrels.  

Bella likes to stalk them, staying really quiet and sneaking up on them.  But me?  I love to just go charging in, full speed ahead and be damned anything else that gets in the way, even trees! BOL :)

Neither of us have ever caught one though, damn they are fast!  There have been a couple of close calls though, teehee.  Mom says she doesn't think either of us would know what to do if we DID catch one.  You know, she might be right... I'm gonna go ask Bella if she knows?!

Oh nooooooo!  I've shrunk.  I now fit nicely between Bella's ears!! Eeeeek ;P

Mom told me if I kept cleaning myself like I do (hey, now what's wrong with keeping yourself presentable?) that I would lick myself away to nothing.  Ah well, at least Mom can carry me around in her pocket now, yay :)

Introductions Part 1

We wanted to introduce you to some of our friends properly.  The first one is Cara.  She's a rescue too and is about 4 years.  Cara was the first friend I made when I arrived in the UK and got out of quarantine.  We played together nearly every day, twice a day sometimes too.  We loved to chase each other and wrestle and generally gad about.  It was great.  You can see a video Mom took of us playing in a post below.  

Anyway we gradually grew apart as Buddy came to live with me and Jumble came into Cara's family.  We still see each other nearly every day but for some reason we don't really play together much anymore.  I think it is because when Buddy first came to stay he was a bit too rough with her and tried to do "naughty business" with her too which she really didn't like.  I guess it maybe put her off hanging around with me because it meant that Buddy was always going to be there too?!  Ah well, one of those things Mom says?!

Uh-oh!

This is me with my favourite ball in the whole world!  I was playing with it a few days ago and as you can see was waiting patiently for Mom to pick it up and throw it.  How cute do I look? :P

Anyway, it's a good job Mom took this photo because about 3 minutes after this it ended up at the bottom of the lake. Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  

My heart is broken!

I don't think I'll ever get over thi.... wait is that a tennis ball???????  YAAAAAAYYYYYYY, throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ballllllllllllllllll! Nom!

Mom said I should tell you that she tried to get the ball out but all my crying was quite off putting.  She nearly fell in the lake trying to finagle it out of the muddy lakebed.  Bella didn't help as she kept grabbing the stick Mom was using and Blue-y kept roo-roo-rooing for biscuits.  Thank Dog for Uncle Colin and his bag of treats (nommy sausages and Markies) and a "new" ball.  Yay I LOVE Colin.

It wasn't long though before I nearly lost the "new" ball too.  We were walking over the bridge at the park and the ball slipped out of my mouth and bounced through the holes in the fence and into the lake!  Boy it sure wasn't my day.

See?  Mom even took a photo of it floating!  Luckily my super swimmer friend Millie (that's her below in the middle) went in and got it for me!  She's pawesome.  She was even so nice as to let me have the ball back as soon as she got out of the water!  Her Dad Paul thinks she a wuss (whatever that is?) but I love her for it.  :)

Bella on the other hand is a pain.  When she gets the ball she will NOT give it back.  I have to bark and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark some more (see me in action above) and she still won't let it go.  She loves to wind me up with it.  The only way I get it back is if Mom gives her a biscuit and then she'll drop it.  Me?  I'd rather have the ball!

PS Of course I love to wind up Buds, he gives me nothing but grief some days so this is his payback! heheheh!

Walkies!

And finally today it looks like it will be sunny. YAY! What has been up with the weather?  Isn't it supposed to be summer?  We think Mom is seriously considering moving abroad! Way, that would be great :) what do you think of summer?  Or do you prefer another season? Leave us a comment.

Side-eye

Blue-y keeps giving my ball the side-eye! He ain't gonna get it tho'!  Every time I have a ball or a stick he wants it ... Mom says that I do that too AND I bark up a storm until I get it! Harrumph I don't think I'm that bad :(

You'll probably notice there isn't much left of this ball though ... yes I'm guilty, they don't last very long, but honestly Blue is the WORST for destroying toys.  And stealing biscuits... ok ok Mom I can steal them too ... sheesh can I get a break? :P

Back to an old favourite!

We've been back to walk at our old haunt - Stanley Park.  Yay.  We love the park as there are lots of other doggies to see (including old friends) and lots of birds and squirrels to chase.  The only downside is that although there is a big lake and lots of little ponds we're not allowed to go for a swim. Booo!  But these past couple of days we've had a blast as there was a "new" lake to swim in.  Even though Buds was complaining about all the rain it gave us a place to splash and paddle in.  Buddy even got himself thoroughly soaked through in all the excitement.  I don't know why but he doesn't like being wet and makes such a fuss of drying himself.  If there is a way around a big puddle he will take it rather than go through it, like me, just to save getting his paws wet. Big wuss :P

This was our new pond.  I think Bud liked it because he could still keep his paws on the ground.  Whenever he goes in the pond at our usual walk he'll only go as far as his shoulders.  Mom is dying to get him to swim but I don't think he will unless Mom goes in the pond too ... heehee, can you imagine?

Woof!

Welcome to our new blog! We are two cheeky munchkins (well, according to our mom) - Bella and Buddy.  


First up, I'm Bella.  I'm a collie/retriever/possibly some huskie in there too, cross. I was born in Grand Cayman and I found my human mom when I was four months old.  She found me at the Cayman Animal Humane Society not long after someone else found me wandering the streets of the island.  I was only 2-3 months.  I had to stay in the shelter for 4 weeks awaiting my puppy jabs to kick in (boy they weren't much fun I can tell you!), so I had to wait before I could go to my new home.  Mommy said maybe my brothers and sisters were also turfed onto the street as, when she returned to the shelter a couple of weeks later, there were another 3 pups who were very similar to me in colouring and size.  If only she could have had them too! PS I used to be called Spice (maybe 'cause I'm a "strawberry blonde" heehee).

Hey it's my turn now! Whatup? I'm Buddy ... mom found me at the Easterleigh Sanctuary in St Annes, Lancashire.  It was nearly my first birthday (in the December of 2011) and I'd been in the Sanctuary since 30 June.  Turns out my first human wasn't allowed to have a dog and so the dog warden had to take me away.  Mom says it was lucky he took me to Easterleigh and not some other place where they put you to sleep.  At first I thought sleeping sounded real nice but the look on mom's face made me think otherwise *shudder*! My first human called me Wolf. Dude, I have no idea WHAT he was thinking... I mean c'mon, look at me!

Mom told us to start this blog to document our lives together and share some of the fun we get up to with our doggie friends.  Mom likes to take lots of photos and videos of us so we'll put them on here for ya.
